Independent Fire Risk Assessment The onus is now on the organisation's owner! Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (RRO) which came into force on 1st October 2006 requires the completion of a formal fire risk assessment. The Regulatory Reform consolidates existing legislation and provides a risk-based approach to fire safety. The scope is wide and will mean that one fire safety regime will apply to all workplaces and other non-domestic dwellings. Fire Certificates Fire certification regimes have been replaced with a risk assessment approach. This means that businesses will no longer be able to rely on a fire officer from the local brigade visiting their premises and checking that all relevant fire safety management procedures and measures are in place. Fire Risk Assessment Solutions can arrange to visit your premises and complete a full Fire Risk Assessment of your building or a designated area(s) within your building. We will audit your Fire Safety Management Policy, which includes checking certification, your means of escape policy, fire protection equipment, emergency lighting, fire detection, alarm and sprinkler systems, contractor management, signage and arson. We can look at your Fire Safety Training Policy, such as the training of personnel, fire wardens, new staff, general staff, specific staff, contractors and visitors. Finally, we will complete a file of evidence, by checking flammable substances, combustible materials and waste, interior furnishings, heating and electrical appliances, other sources of heat, lighting, smoking, deliberate or suspicious ignition, occupancy profile, persons at risk and escape. Significant Findings We will then produce and present a report detailing the significant findings we have identified during the fire safety audit and importantly, give recommendations to rectify the problem. |
